I would like to apply for the position of Finance Controller as advertised. Recently, I have been working for a small owner/manager company very much in a hands on role, heading up financial activities including producing accounts, cash flow, analysis, financial strategy and reporting back to management on the company’s finances, setting and checking targets, monitoring departmental activities and auditing and overseeing all regulatory compliance and tax affairs.

I am a fully qualified accountant (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – ACCA) and have successfully completed a number of courses with ACCA as well as attending regular networking meetings to ensure that I keep up to date with current accountancy practices.

I originally obtained a degree in Business Studies, and I’ve currently been working in an accountancy role managing a number of smaller projects as a trainee financial controller, using budgeting and financial modelling tools.

I am now seeking a full-time position as a Financial Controller rather than just managing ad hock projects. I am used to managing a small team of ledger clerks overseeing the administrative aspects of the job and having to work to tight deadlines and would now relish the opportunity to get more involved in complex financial decision making regarding the development of the company as a whole.

I am now keen to progress to a larger organisation so I can use my professional skills to their fullest extent and learn from the senior management team, working closely with them on mergers and acquisitions and important strategic decisions.

I believe this role would give me ample opportunity to demonstrate the skills and experience I can bring to benefit the company, with my close eye for detail and accuracy, backed up by professional qualifications and expertise gained over the last 5 years.
