Dear Sirs

I should like to apply for the position of Legal Cashier as advertised recently.

I enjoy working in a legal environment which I have done since I left school, some 10 years ago. I have progressed through the organisation and am now working in a position of some seniority. I assist on a day by day basis in the planning of the law firm’s financial strategy and look after general, financial, legal and clerical administration and oversee some of the larger transactions.

I am asked to report on the company’s financial matters and interests and liaise closely with the accounts department on client accounts and the running costs of the firm. I also oversee the company’s HR requirements and liaise with the partners on some marketing aspects of the company as we do not have a full-time marketing assistant currently.

I am used to working across a number of disciplines and, although not a trained lawyer, with no direct contact or responsibility in this area, I like the stimulus of working in a very busy legal practice.

I have excellent communication skills and can work competently and fast across a number of different tasks on a day to day basis; I have a good eye for detail and accuracy which is of paramount importance in this role.

I am now seeking to progress to work in a larger practice, hence my application. I enclose my CV and references are available on request, including my current employer.
