Tesco jobs are available in Corby. The retail and supermarket giant, Tesco, will have open days from 3rd September.
Tesco has started recruiting for its new supermarket in Corby and has vowed to offer 100 jobs to those who have been unemployed for six months or more. The initiative is taking place as part of a deal that Corby Council agreed with the supermarket chain and will be a boost to the local area when the store opens in January 2013.
Initial screening will take place via hotline and the next steps, which will include interviews and work samples, will follow when all of the provisional places have been allocated. The Tresham Institute is assisting with the selection process and interviews are expected to start in November.
It is hoped that the supermarket’s recruitment will have a positive impact on Corby’s unemployment rate, which is higher than the national average. The rate for those unemployed for six months or more is also higher.
A supervisor at the town’s job club stated that the new supermarket was excellent news for jobseekers in the area and that it would be a welcome boost to those who had been out of work for some time.
The job club provides support with CV preparation and offers free access to computers to help job seekers with applications.
The store will be ready by the end of November 2012 and store will open in Jan, 2013.
